mushroom house

Two-part course for intermediate level needle felting students meets via Zoom on Saturdays January 22 and 29, 2022 from 1-4 pm.

Offered in partnership with Thunder Bay Weaver and Spinner’s Guild.  This listing is for American students to sign up for the class.  Canadian students please contact Frances Bennett-Sutton (send us a note if you need her contact info).

Cost includes the extensive kit and shipping (in lower 48 states) as well as tuition.  Please provide your own foam or padded work surface (approx. 10×10 inches works great).

Description and Objectives:

This exciting two-part class is a delight for intermediate level needle felting students who have worked with Laura Berlage before.  In part 1, we will learn to work with a foam armature to create and decorate the mushroom.  In the second class, we’ll form the grassy base, side mushrooms with wire armature, and decorations–including the shell bead stepping stones.  Some homework between sessions may be necessary to complete the house mushroom.

Kit includes:  ample colorful wool from our sheep, 3 felting needles, foam armature, wire armature, shell bead stepping stones, and beading needle.  You are certainly welcome to use additional tools of choice and beads/bobbles to decorate!  You can even bring your favorite felted gnome or fairy to enjoy your magical creation.  The creative opportunities with this project are endless!

After registration, you will receive the Zoom Meeting invitation links.  Keep these in a safe place, as you’ll use this link for both sessions.  I look forward to sharing this class with you!
