To be honest, I earn more topline revenue on my kits than my teaching labor, or at least it’s 50/50. Materials kits are an important part of my revenue stream.
If I asked my students to supply all their own materials, I would miss this opportunity–and create much more work for my students. I’d also be creative a potential setup for failure, as students try to cut corners or procure the wrong materials. I like to build a recipe for success for my students, not invite potential failure and frustration.
